I float on a lake,
of crystal waters
My mind is in peace,
gently thoughtless
Dreaming of sweet things

But I wake up

There is a haze on the water,
a dark shape underneath
I see people all around me,
smiles on their lips

But their eyes,
Their eyes...

They tell me the truth

They call me what I am;
Strange
Alone
A freak..

The shape draws nearer,
reaches for me
Teeth and claws,
scratching at my back

It pulls me;
deeper and deeper
Below the water,
the others come to watch
More shapes now,
nipping at my feet
One comes at me,
a fist of shadow
It knocks me in the chest,
all air leaving my body

As I drown,
they watch
They smile still,
oblivious to my pain

Breathing as I drown,
swimming while I'm bound

Hopelessness drives me,
to the murky depths
Fear leads me,
into the unknown
The promise of escape,
keeps me under

As I drown,
they watch
They smile still,
oblivious to my pain

Their eyes tell me the truth;

I am strange.
I am alone.
I am, a freak...
