    Unpleasant Sensations

Hello, how is everyone. Does anyone else experience this?

I have first been having this scary numbing feeling on the left side of my cheek and in my left arm and hand. This is scary because it is symptoms of something more serious. I have had my heart checked and it's fine, but I get these sensations and I can't help but worry. I think this is related to stress because I can't relax lately and can't find peace of mind with all that is happening recently in my life. It is hard for me to tell if the sensations or the racing mind comes first.

This anxiety is crazy how it can mimic other more seious things. I would really like to hear from some other people in similar situations, and describe the physical symptoms anxiety & stress causes you. Thanks for reading. Peace, FF

hi there, i get this too. alot. even jumping nerves can cause me to worry. What i try to do is rationalise. i think to myself, because i have anxiety my bodys fight/flight response is always higher and even normal bodily functions and movements, numbness etc are all normal, our body is a working thing, our organs pump, our nerves twitch, we get dead legs and menstrual cramps but as i say because we have anxiety these little normal activities cause us to concieve irrationaal ideas about what is going on which accelerates the heart and causes an attack, which is then mistaken for serious health problems. I really hope this helps. i have got rationalising down to a T now but it took a long time and not everyone can do it but good luck.

    Hey Cheryl,

Thanks for the reply. When this happens, it seems to come out of the blue and last for days. Then I feel normal for a few weeks. How long does it take you to wind down once you start rationalizing?

it takes about an hour or so depending on what sensation im feeling. for example i know it sounds strange but i had lady cramps and thought i was pregnant and didnt know and was going into labour- enough for me to go to A+E. i was so embarrassed haha. that lasted for hours. but normally now from iv started rationalising its very different and iv stopped googling things. seriously.. do not google any symptoms. google is brilliant but it doesnt have a PHD. its all about control. if there was something sinster going on (like a heart attack or a stroke) you would know. i seen an uncle of mine, a big tough man, fall on the floor with a heart attack. he was in agony, he died but it was enough to knock him off his chair. if you want any tips on rationalising private message me. i have researched anxiety and tried almost every technique. this works for me. if you find it works for you i have alot more tips. it has changed my life just forcing myself to change my way of thinking.
