    Hello :)

My name is Amanda...I came here mostly because I have this intense fear of being alone at night or coming home to an empty house. I have all these thoughts like what if someone breaks in? What if the house catches fire while we are asleep? Its just me and my son and I sleep with a cpap machine and take a lot of medications for bipolar and anxiety and they knock me out. Have any of you dealt with such fears? I had a security system installed but I haven't stayed at home yet with it. We have been at my parents house for over a week now. I don't know what to do

So sorry you are experiencing this kind of fear. In my book it is the worst kind. The only thing I can suggest is to trust God or kind of chant to yourself as you enter the house .... I praise God, praise God, over and over.... You cannot change this fear but you can drown it out with praises. In time it will pass.

Thanks for your reply I will definitly try praising God more and praying more. I know I should trust God more and just get over my fear but I've had it since childhood...well since I can remember. I have an appt with a therapist at mental health the fourteenth...im praying that will help me. Thanks again and God bless<3

    Hi Amanda,
This has got to be very scarry for you..home is where we should feel safe..One thing I have learned being agoraphobic is that beating yourself up by telling yourself you should "just get over it" causes more stress..Be kinder to yourself, unfortunately none of us with these problems can just get over! I'm glad you are going to begin therapy..Once a month I force myself out the door to see a psychologist, and though it's difficult to talk to anyone about the fears I have, it does help knowing that there is someone who truley understands and cares. Hang in there!!

I have a CPAP machine at the pharmacy. I can't wait to use it. :-)
