really tired of trying new docs. and meds. wish someone could help!

i have been dealing w/ extreme anxiety mt whole life. i always managed it pretty good un til about two years ago. i started having panic attacks. now i have them3-5 times a day. on top of it all i am a mother. so i go to doctors that put mr on meds that knock me out and seem to do nothing for my panic attacks and all they can say is, we want to stay away from anything that may be habbit forming. i really don't care as long as i can be half way normal! wil i ever get any releief?

wow, my doctors told me the us with anxiety and panic disorders that if we take it as needed we will not get addicted...it is the only thing that helps when the panic comes on....i tried klonopin but i had 6 panic attacks in a 10 hours span...scary for real.....but yeah i mean we can not get addicted if we are using how we are suppose too.......I have 1mg tableyts that i can take 4 times a day as needed....but normally since my zoloft is starting to work i only need maybe on or two but once they up my med agagin i might not have to take them at all........i am hoping!

I would def tell them you need something because it is terrifying to go through this on a daily basis I knw especially when you are tring to stay calm for your kid and all!

I can totally relate to all your posts! I have been switched from celexa to citalopram to lexapro and now to prozac! At the beginning I was taking lorazepam as needed, and it did work great and fast when I really needed it. I have not used it for awhile now tho cuz I am scared of getting addicted and going through withdrawls. The prozac doesnt make me as tired but I havent been sleeping well at all! I notice more panic attacks tho then with previous meds. I am also having problems with weight gain! Maybe zoloft would be better?? I wish we could all just feel like our old selves again!!

I am on zoloft and my doc just switched me today to 150 mg, i am praying that I will not need more, and I will be able to not have to have loraopam all the time, but i have gotten down to taking only 2 pills a day and she said hopefully by xmas I will not even need them....I am hoping so much so much!!!!!!!

    edorn01,
When I first started having panic attacks it was on and off all day! I was miserable and I was also taking the lorazepam two or three times a day because I really needed it, and you do when it is bad, I know! Eventually when my meds kicked in after about a month I started to cut it down to twice a day, then once and so on till I could go without it. I still want to take it at times tho, it's def good to have on hand just in case! Question? Does Zoloft make you tired? Does it make u gain weight? I,ve had these probs with all the meds I,ve tried.

No, actually i have started to lose weight which is nce, so far i have lost about 10 pounds and i think it is because I am not eating to stop my anixiety but when my panic would come on, i just would not eat..........now I can though but i do not eat as much....

but no I dont have weight gain or anything, I take my pills @ 6 and I dont get tired off of them...medicine affects everyone differently...like i know alot of people I work with who are nurses and when i tell them I take 1mg of lorazopam....they are like wow, because alot of people would fall asleep from it....

I would say give it a try if the medicine you are on is not working, I really am happy that this is finally starting to and I can not wat to be normal again!!!!!!
