Any ideas to help CITYBOUND only. 15 mile radius

I function absolutely normal with no anxiety, but the minute I get out of the radius of far away from home, those
negative thought patterns, and impending doom come that I will lose control, make a fool out of myself..

But, I am taking 10 mg. LEXAPRO since 1999, prior to that I was riddled with anxiety. When I started to taper
off the meds, even in the last year, the agoraphobia returns. They say PHOBIAS are also major depression.

    Any thoughts, Anyone.

    Thank you.

    Hiya,
I know what you are feeling, i was once in that situation where you can only go to certain places within your comfort zone, that as you are more than likely know is a symptom of agoraphobia, but i find the key to breaking free of it is to push yourself to go out of that zone, maybe have a friend to go with you for support, only if you go a few blocks out your comfort area and only for 10 minutes, just keep doing it and increase the distance and time a little after a few tries, and slowly you will find it easier, if those bad feelings do creep in, then just keep your mind busy and it will pass.

As for phobias being major depressions, all i can say to that is what a load of crap!!!! you see people with a phobia of spiders and snakes but other than their fear they are perfectly happy people living there lives. so dont believe the hype.

best of luck, please keep pushing forward.
