I have a terrible fear of driving at night, if I am in town and all the streets are lite, then I am perfectly fine. But put me on the back roads where there isn't any street lights, I cannot see well enough, I would be in the ditch in know time. When I worked the video store, it closed at midnight, once one of my co-workers asked for a drive home, she didn't have a way home. So I did it, I drove so slow and I was scared to death, I did manage to do it. So I know I can if I really have to, it just really scares me.

I did once try to drive on the highway, and I couldn't merge, it was horrible, I was all by myself, I had know choice but to finish what I started, it was a very tiny peice of highway. I sat there and cars were going around me, until nothing was coming, and then went, I will never do it again. At least I can say I tried. Makes me panic just thinking about it.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

i hate driving at night, for the exact same reasons,i find its best to resist the urge to drive like a nutter, and slow it right down.this may piss the people behind you off a bit,but it does help to calm me down.as for motorways forget it,the most i can manage is the half mile stretch in my town.teassuringly,i know quite a few people, who wont drive on them, and their not people with our problems,so we,re not so unusual.xxjools
