Not getting sunlight can make you really sick too.. it is a lot rarer to get cancer from sun exposure than it is to get really sick from not getting enough sunlight.
Sounds good to me!
Totally agree. Anxiety is there for a reason. It's there to keep us safe. It's high when like Rybi87 says, scared for no reason. Or rather scared for a reason that may have passed on already. I...
This is my 6th year of agoraphobia. I can not believe it really! I keep waiting for it to go away. I think no matter how good I get I'll still have those tendencies and retreat a lot but I'm...
Ah the brick wall feeling. I totally get that. I too often feel this probably even more so now than the general panic that comes with agoraphobia. At first it was always panic at the thought of going...
Oh yeah I get them too. I can usually calm myself down now a midst one by remembering to breath normally and knowing that I am in fact safe.
Try not to let yourself feel too guilty.. it just makes you feel bad which in turn keeps you inside longer! Just be happy and do your best!
AliceInChains. So true. I also find it extremely difficult to admit I have this problem. It just sounds so lame and stupid. Sometimes I even forget that I have it and once I'm reminded I feel like...
Wow. Sounds like me. haha
Hey Beth! Nice to meet you, I'm 22 from Australia too and got Agoraphobia when I was 17, dropped out of college and have been pretty stuck ever since. Getting back into the swing of things again now...

That was obviously too much exposure then! I do agree though that exposure therapy is the best way to go. Hope you're feeling better soon. Also you need to treat the underlying cause before you can...
Agreed! In the same boat here.
It's not you! Be calm and be happy.. your self-esteem is making you believe that it's your fault! That's the crazy thing! Any one would be jealous and paranoid in that situation!
Never read it but completely agree with the message behind it!
Wow :) good for you! I find that telling myself that I can always worry about something later helps. Knowing that there's no point in wasting this moment and worrying right now when I have plenty of...
Couldn't agree more. I've found that walking everyday makes me feel a million times better!
Exactly! Sometimes I get a little panic attack at the destination but I can usually supress them. It's the waiting and travelling that's the major problem!
I loveeee that feeling! It's magical! My anxiety is usually the waiting and thinking about going rather than the doing at the time. I usually find that if it's something I would normally (without...
Does anyone do anything right at 16? Not me.
I've never taken meds for this. I want to get over this thing properly and not be dependent on any meds to get me out and about. I know where it stems from, horrible past events and general anxiety...
Definitely agoraphobic tendencies here... you sound like me! :P
Hi Katie! I got agoraphobia when I was 17 too... almost 23 as well now :) Nice to meet you!
So long as it was properly dried it's fine.
