hiya im 35 year old who suffers from agorophobia/anxiety and depression and have for the last five years.

im slowly winning little battles, im able to go out in my safezone by myself, which years ago i dared not even give that a thoughtand would refuse to go.
i am however able to go to major shopping malls and alot of other places now with company and survive, this has only been in the last year or so that ive really started to do all of this. slowly but surely im winning and im gaining some little freedoms something i never had before.

i take celexa only started a month ago which seems to be working okay, it has settle moods a great deal, which i find what i needed the most.(ahhh sigh of relief there.. :)

i look forward to meeting you all

Dear Shadow :)

http://bestsmileys.com/welcome/4.gif to the forum!

It sounds like you're doing really well and taking little steps every day towards recovery. Congratulations!

I'm sure many people here would love to know how you've managed to take these steps which allow you to get out of the house and go to places like the mall etc. I don't suffer from agoraphobia but do have generalised anxiety disorder and depressive illness so I do understand some of your issues.

Well done for working on being able to go out. It really sounds like you are getting there :) !

I look forward to chatting with you.

Wishing you all the best
