Ok when I went to bed and got woke by the phone after only 3 hours or less of sleep I tried to get up but my pulse was going so fast so I got up slow and I went to the other room for the phone and my heart was raceing so fast that when I got the phone I missed the call and by this time I had a panic attack trying to come on fast because of my heart rate going soooo fast :( I got scared and said to my self nooooo not a panic attack and then next I thought who I could call at 7 am and then i went for a ice pack and took some xanax fast and then laid down and took my deep breaths and then after a bit i was feeling better and I thought why this happened to me WAS IT THE BEING WOKE WITH SHORT SLEEP OR WAS IT THE SUGAR FROM THE RAW COOKIE DOUGH JUST BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP.
i THINK THE SUGAR DOES THIS TO ME A LOT BECAUSE MANY TIMES I ATE ICECREAM AND WENT TO SLEEP ONLY TO WAKE WITH MY HEART RACEING.
DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ANY OF YOU HERE????????
I PANIC REAL EASY WHEN i HAVE NOT HAD ENOUGH SLEEP BUT WHEN i HAVE HAD SUGAR IT SEEMS TO KICK IN WHILE IM ASLEEP AND I WAKE IN A PANIC.
I remember one time the door bell woke me and I went into a painc that time and i recall my heart raceing so fast that i paniced and called my hubby on the cell phone and i was shakeing and was in bad fear and ended up calling 911. Every since this I relize it is only a panic attack but hey only sounds bad because at the time it feels like DEATH. I can even be feeling good and out of the blue I go to scoop litter box and when I stand I get the fast heart rate and bp is ok i think but at the time it feels like my bp may be the cause but if it were i would think it would not go down so fast and easy. Why does the heart race so fast from sugar???
and why does it race even faster out of a good sleep??
I am so tired of the raceing heart PLEASE HELP im lost on this one.
I do not ever eat big meals or even a regular meal anymore because i get the fast raceing heart and I do not want that so I eat very tiny meals like a 8 to 10 ounce microwave dish and sometimes even just that small amount will cause anxiety.

Hi again Panicgirl

I'd keep right away from sugary things if I was you. Sugary foods are no good for anyone. They make your blood sugars rise quicky and then drop quickly and it could contribute to panic but I'm really not sure.

Fruits are fine though. I eat about 3 pieces of fruit a day and they seem to satisfy my desire for sweet things.

What I do know is that food has a big impact on my mood. I eat wholesome food that is not processed and keep to a low glycemic diet which keeps my blood sugar levels on an even keel.

Chocolate makes my heart race so I keep away from it.

I'd spend a bit of time surfing the net to look at the relationship between what we eat and how what we eat can make us feel. Being careful about what I put in my body has made a big difference with my mood.

Wishing you all the best

I am one to not like sugar that much but like to eat sweets during the day in small bites and I have found as long as I eat it in moderation I am ok but not to late at nite or Im in trouble then. Wonder why it gets me so bad if I eat it then go to sleep? And when Im awake it is fine soooooo weird.

I guess Im a worry wart and need to learn to stop but ya know how hard it can be being anxiety sick.
