hi bindi - i'm so sorry for you (and me). did anything seem to bring on your agoraphobia? sometimes I wonder if it isn't something hormonal tied to perimenopause... I just turned 49 and still have normal periods, but I have nightsweats at times and very heavy, long lasting periods. anyway - if you can think of anything that happened to you that seemed to lead up to your condition, it might be interesting to compare. I was having non-stop panic in the daytime - both on and then off xanax, which I had been taking for a number of years. the only way i've found to keep myself under control is to use alcohol throughout the day - which I hate. I'm never drunk ( I have a drink every 3-4 hours) and it seems to help me. i was a recovering alcoholic for 16 years until we moved to Georgia, our third move in 7 years, and i slipped. then is stopped for another year, then slipped up again. and now i'm drinking "medicinally". I don't even remotely enjoy it.

Id like to hear back from you. thanks for responding to my thread.
