ok, so this really only applies to ladies only, but i went to the doctor today with something completely unrelated to anxiety (for a change) i have extreme health anxiety but this time i actually do have something wrong with me and it was amazing to hear what it was!! this may sound weird but i found out i have polycystic ovary syndrome- now i assumed this just caused u to have irregular periods etc but apparently because of the hormone levels being so messed up it can cause depression and anxiety... now pcos can literally be controlled by a very safe long term dose of medication!! i just wanted to draw attention to this incase anyone elses anxiety is due to this. of course its not for certain this IS the cause but hell, im gonna take the meds and fingers crossed it will help!! i will keep ya posted. please let this be the end of my living hell... wish me luck :???:
What are the other symptoms to polysystic ovary condition? Heavy cramping? Is it just irregular periods?

I've wondered for awhile if polycystic ovary syndrome is related to anxiety. My situation is kind of the opposite from yours - I found out that I had polycystic ovary syndrome, I took medication (birth control pills), and THEN I started having major symptoms of anxiety. After 2-3 years of taking birth control, I started having panic attacks, so I stopped taking the medicine. Now I rarely have panic attacks, but I regularly have anxiety attacks. I think that my anxiety is either related to the PCOS or to the medicine, but I'm not sure which. It's nice to know that PCOS can cause anxiety, so thanks for sharing. Good luck with getting better =]
