I suffer badly from needle phobia, blood/accident phobia, hospital phobia, and dental phobia.
I am currently seeing a clinical psychologist for my phobias, but I missed alot of appointments as I went to Italy back in June originally for two weeks, but had an accident while I was there, I nearly ripped my big toe nail off which sent me into a panic, so I have only really had 5 weeks with my psychologist, which has been working on my needle phobia. I am now able to look at pictures without feeling anxious, and hold a needle in my hand without any problems. The watching of videos is still a bit hard, but not as bad as it was. I even managed to watch my psychologist have a blood test, which was a huge acheivement for me. Monday was the worst day, as it was my turn to have a blood test, and my psychologist was there with me, but it took me about an hour before I was able to have it, because I was so anxious, I had to keep going outside and going back in, but eventually I found the courage to have it done. After I had the test, I went so light headed and felt faint, and I had to sit outside for a while, and I was physically sick.
I have my final appointment with my psychologist that I have now this week, but am hoping to see somebody else to get help with my other phobias. I am getting help now, as when I am older, I am going to have to face my phobias eventually.
I would love to hear from other people who suffer from the same phobias as I do.
