If they only knew
How sometimes smiles don't work
How easy it is to hold back tears
But not blood
How hard it is
In only 8th grade
To know exactly who you are
To know what you are
Depressed
Sad
Angry
If they only knew
How it feels to bleed out the sadness
To just want to curl up
And die
But at the same time
Ache for something worth fighting for
Reach for something that matters
But never find it
They don't know
Will never know
But we know
We are who we are
And nothing can change that
