Through silken fog I stroll with you
in memories long past
I feel your smile, a warming glance
and pray each moment last
In cheerful conversations where
we lose all track of time
Or sitting saying nothing just
to have you near is fine.
I thought I'd never heal when your
death cut me like a knife
but I'll always have you with me
in my heart and head and life.

I know you hurt down deep inside
in places I can't reach
The pain you feel seems locked behind
a wall I've yet to breach.

I'm angry life has brought you where
your dreams seem in demise.
It's stolen joy and left you with
confusion, gloom and whys.

I've arms to help you carry this
and shoulders for your head.
Please, listen when I tell you
better days are just ahead.

Remember that I love you and
I'm here to help you deal
And pray for patience, hope for haste
to help this new wound heal.
