On Thursday of this past week I had a Dr. appointment, my hubby is usually with me , but couldn'd get off work in time...I figured I have been driving this new location for two other visits,, I should be okay...
AS the day progressed I became more nervous,,but kept busy trying to ignore the feelings,,When it was time,,, I got into my car and was off to My appointment,,,,doing fairly well,,,listening to the radio ,,,enjoying the beautiful sunshine we have been missing! I reached my destination and the Dr called me into his office ,,, I told him I had driven myself.. He was really amazed to think I had the courage to do this ,,It was a big step for me as it is something I haven't been able to do!! :) :) He said he was proud of me!! I did say well now lets see ,,that I get home ok !! He ignored that and said the important thing was that I did it ,,,on my own.....
After my appointment ,,, I walked out to my car,,realizing that it was dark,,as my appt, started at 5 pm,,,,I tried to stay calm,,and got back just the way I came ,,,but I did something wrong ,, a wrong turn?? maybe :huh: :huh: after 15 minutes of driving I decided that I was lost,,,good and lost :( :(
I stopped at a corner convenient store ,,, . for directions, now starting to panic... the woman was very pleasant and helped me find my way to the highway,, I was on my way,,Just go on this road for 20 mls ..and i would be in my home town,,, THe tractor trailer lights... were zooming by me ,, and I could feel myself getting really tense ,,,but I kept going ,,,,,until I found my exit,,and got off . I was in a state of disorientation now,,,,I was home almost but it took time to register , places I have seen all my life,,,
I pulled into the driveway ,, and hubby was right there to greet me ,,knowing by the look on my face,, I had a prob,,, :(
So I guess in a way this was an accomplishment ,,and also a lesson ,,,
I will not let this stop me from trying again!!
