Does anyone know what the fear of thunderstorms is called? I have suffered with this for 8 yrs since the night my mom died and there was a bad one. Anyone out there have this problem too? I could really use some coping advice. Thank you...

Im not too sure, I dont have the same fear that you have, but, in my opinion dealing with my own phobias and anxiety, you stated about your mom. Its basically again in my opinion, an association issue. you associate storms as bad due to the trauma that you had in your life during a storm. I dunno, maybe seeing a professional may help.I know with my phobias, I try to avoid the association part, doesnt always happen due to not being able to control situations. My phobia is nightmares basically,reoccuring nightmares of myself cheating on my fiance' I wouldnt mind it so much if I was able to understand it was only a dream, but i confuse myself and think I may have done this, i may have sleptwalked out of my house to cheat. So in my case i cant control my dreams so I have to be realistic with the association, just like yourself, you cant control storms. hope i make sense. i know for sure though no matter what the phobia is, we all have the same feeling in the end. Keep your head up!
