hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else had problems with anxiety, It seems like all I do worry, I can't concentrate on anything else and now I can't sleep or even eat anymore. I have been trying lots of things onmy own, but I figure that maybe I should look for help among people who are going through the same thing, I can't get professional help because if I did I would lose my job. I keep looking for help on how to get my mind off these thoughts but nothing helps, I just can't seem to just relax and enjoy life. I know that I am probably safe but it feels like something someone is out to get me and there is nothing I can do to prevent it. All I can do is wait and go over the various consequences if something does happen. I've been like this for two years now and I don't see the end of it. If anyone is going through the same, please let me know, it would be nice to know I am not going through thi s alone.

:) Hi saberdoc, welcome.
Why would you lose your job by getting help?
Worry and anxiety are what all of us feel so you'll be looked after here.
Hope you find some peace xx
Hi saberdoc,
Angie's right why would you lose your job just because your seeking help? if you seek help you wont become some pill popping zombie lol.
You would be sent for some sort of counselling where you just talk things through.
Did anything happen around the time it all started, something stressful?
you will get support from all who visit this site as were all in similar situtations.
Take Care DP X

First off, Thank you both for responding,
The reason my job would be in jeopardy is because I am a govt employee and with my job, seeing a mental health provider is a sure way to be reassigned to a deadend career field with no chance of advancement. the good news is that thanks to all the encouragement I recieved last night from all the wonderful people in this group, I went to see my primary care physician and told him about my problems, so he has started me a lexapro and given me something to aid with sleep. So looks like this is just the beggining!! Anyway thank you again for your help, this place is exactly what I was looking for and what I have needed for all these years. :)

Hi there
I am failing to understand what being a government worker has to do with seeing a professional...?? If you do see a professional for your mental state it DOES NOT mean you cannot have a good career. Lots off people here work. I myself am a government worker and have seen a professional at the same time and I am really confused as to why you think it can affect that?????
love mama :)

I know exactly what you're feeling. You're not alone. This is the first time I've been on this site. It helps a little to know that other people have the same struggle. It's nice to know that there is support for us. I have had panic and anxiety for about 8 yrs, since my mom died. It's been rough. I have a phobia over thunderstorms, it's especially bad in the summer when the weather get's stormiest. Maybe talking about it and hearing other peoples stories will help. Hang in there!
