what do our names mean?

hiya, am posting this on behalf of mama, as it was her great idea to ask 'what do our chat names mean?' my name is taken from an isle sumwhere up north west coast (i think), it is somewhere id like to visit, as it sounds so peacefull and beautiful, and i love the name, so thats what i called my dog, also.i dont think she minds me nicking her name too much, as she doesnt use the computer a lot!!!!...what does ur chat name mean, and where does it come from? skye xxx

Mine is nowhere as poetic as yours! My favourite band is Iron Maiden, has been for the last 20 years! My hubby keeps hoping i'll grow up one day :D Anyway...the wicker man and the nomad are 2 of my favourite songs...I joined their forum as wicker nomad....which has been shortened to wicky by my friends on there.

Bit of useless info...I finally met their singer and drummer last summer :D ...goes to show dreams can come true ;)

I got the nick "Bubbles" from a terrible tv show that is tape here in my province. The show is called "The trailer Park boys" and the title pretty much explains the show. What else is terrible is that the kids love it. Young teenage and up. One of the characters name is bubbles because he wears glasses that are very thick.

A little boy was very sick in our town, he was about 10 yr old at the time and found his parents found out he had a tumor in his brain and it was cancer. This little boy loved this show very much. He was asked if he could have one thing what would it be. and he said to meet these guys from this show. These guys came to our town and spent the whole day with him.

So since then, I have a special kind of feelings for these guys. Also Bubbles is my sons favorite charactor.

So that is why I chose the nick Bubbles

I have been to one concert in my life and it was iron maiden, twisted sister opened for them.

I come from a farely small town, so you can imagin the fear on my face when i walked into where the concert. The whole time i was there all i wanted to do was go home. My friend on the other hand, her hand and arm were flaring in every direction.. One moment in my life I would not want do that again, hehe.

This is what my screenname means. Cajun - pronounced (kay-jen). The definition of Cajun - a member of a group of people in southern Louisiana descended from French colonists exiled from Acadia (Nova Scotia) in the 18th century.
CAJnCAT is also my family's initials except the "n", and I'm from SE Louisiana.

The isle of skye is off the west coast of scotland,and is v beautiful,and very peaceful.the mountains are amazing.i didnt want to go home.

I dont know what my name means. I think it has something to do with fish or the rings arround one of jupiters moons. Or it could be the name of that plastic piece on the end of shoe laces. Mines pretty boring and simple. ffmed=firefighter paramedic because thats what I am. Been a vollenter ff for 15 years and a medic for 6. Its funny those things cause me streeses but I don't think I could give them up......they have become to much a part of who I am.

Good question! :) Mine is not actually my real name. I think the name is pretty and I think it would suit me if I had to chose another! It was also the name of my best friend after I moved to a new school. I was 7 then. She was lovely, so I have positive associations with it. (In case you're wondering, we unfortunately lost touch after she moved the following year).
I think our nick names allow us the freedom to suit our needs of it here.-It can be funny, positive, meaningful or give us a sense of security by hiding behind a different name when we try challenging things like joining this group (many of us I know find it so hard). When I'm a bit stronger, maybe I'll tell you my real name! :huh:
