Scared of driving anywhere but local

Hi Everyone, I am new here and could really use some advise in dealing with my phobia of Driving. I have been driving for years and then all of a sudden I started having panic attacks while driving. I am seeing a therapist and she is recommending hypno-therapy to try and find the reason I am now very anxious when driving. Has anyone every tried hypno-therapy??? I would love to know there is a rainbow at the end of all of this. I am just now recently driving locally again but cant seem to drive anywhere far from home. I am even trying to find work closer to home just so I can go back to work?? Any advice?? I would love to hear them

HI,

Can you think of anything relevant that might of caused the panic attacks? Maybe they didnt necessarily come from the driving but from something else significant that happened in your life.

There is alwaysa rainbow at the end of the tunnel, you have just got to think positive. I hope you find the therapy works for you and things get back to normal very soon.

I am having hypnotherapy but it isnt for driving phobia it is for agoraphobia, claustrophobia and panic attacks. However, I would say give it a try. It isn't a 100% cure but it has helped me in self-relaxation and coping with anxious situations.
