Hi everyone:

Just thought I'd introduce myself a little. I am a 47 yr old woman. I live in Western British Columbia, Canada. I have been an anxious person all my life and prone to depression or low mood times. Most recent years have been a struggle with outside forces causing all sorts of anxiety. Those forces have now blown away and things have started to look a little brighter, once again.

Last year was the catalyst for me. I suffer from IBS and most recently with Acid Reflux (GERD) and went to a doc because I developed a lump in my throat. I thought I had cancer! I googled symptoms until I was convinced I had throat cancer. Well 3 specialist disagreed and so did a biopsy. But the lump continues to this day and I still sometimes think I may have cancer, which causes me anxiety!

I'm glad to have found a few forums that have helped me immensely these past few months and I hope to find comfort here too. Anyway, just a small part of my story but a start! Thanks for listening.

Hi: Dino:

Thanks for the reply, makes me feel a little better when I hear from fellow lump in throat sufferers. I have heard of the globus thing but not that it is complete anxiety in the throat area, makes sense though. I feel I have had to "swallow" so much crap in the past that its starting to come back up, if you know what I mean. I guess it makes sense since most of my anxiety symptoms seem to be digestive in nature.

To hear that your went away, even for a while gives me hope as I have had this over a year now. Horrible, choking and gagging thing that it is! I don't have any problem eating or drinking so that's good I guess.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for the lift, it all helps!
