Well I figured out how to use this thing finally. now to see if anyone is interested in reading what I have to say. My trip to the hospital: Thursday I wondered what it would be like to cut. I tried. First i tried a regular knife, that didn't work well, then i tried a steak knife and that was a little better. Then i used my husbands exactoknife. That worked. I didn't press hard enough though because I couldnt make i bleed. It sounds wierd but I felt like a failure because I couldnt do it right :( Iwas also thinking of ways i could kill myself. So I called my cousin because she has experienced the same thing. She told me to get with someone. Do to a safe place so I went to my pasters house for a while. Then I went to the crisis center. (Which I had been to the day before). My mom took me to the crisis center and had me take my adavan so I was out of it most of the time. They referred me to the hospital. I dont even remember how i got there. I just woke up there the next day. I do remember them giving me a shot though because it hurt like heck for a few days. While I was in the hospital they dropped me almost all the way off my meds. So being schizoaffective with bipolar subtype I rapid cycled at least once until they got me back on my regular dose of moodstabelizer. the time I spent there I just slept or journaled or talked on the phone. Now I'm back home. Got home yesterday. And I'm at my mother-in-laws house so I could get back on the internet. Otherwise i would be home sleeping. Do any of you have any advice on what to do now that i'm out? like get right back into my schedule or relax a while.... Well I'll quit borring youall to death. I hope someone reads my story and can give me advice. Truly Montana

Dear Montana :)
http://bestsmileys.com/welcome/10.gif to the forum!
Well it sounds like you've had a rough time lately but from your post it sounds like you've got caring family and friends around you and that's a real plus.
I'm not sure which country you live in but here in Australia when someone is discharged from a hospital with mental health problems, there is follow-up with a mental health professional.
Might I suggest that you make an appointment quick smart to see your psychiatrist/doctor who prescribes your psych meds for you?
It's rough coming out of hospital after an episode so I really feel for you right now.
I'm really glad that you found this site. I hope you like it here. The forum and chat are full of caring and friendly people  .
Do let us know how you get on.
Wishing you all the best

Hi again Montana :)
That's great you've got an appointment to see your doctor tomorrow. It's good you were able to get an appointment before Christmas and even better that your husband is, most likely, able to go to the appointment with you. I'm so happy for you that you have that loving support from your partner.
No, I don't get into chat very often. I tend to just post here because of lack of time. I do plan to use chat over the Christmas/New Year period though when I'm off work.
I enjoy chat when I go there.
I hope your appointment with your doctor tomorrow goes well.
You take care now and let us know how you get on

Thanks Petal. I got your message. I hope this is how you reply. I'm still really new to this. Drs apt went ok. He left my meds as is which suprised me. I thought he would do something different since those were the meds I was on when all the stuff happened except a higher dose. Now that I'm out of the hospital things arent goen so well. But hopefully through time they will. Thanks for writing back.
Hope to hear from you soon.

hello montana-
Hope you have a speedy recovery!
Im glad to see in the midst of all your troubles you still made it to get help. Thats a big step in the right direction. I understand how you feel. I too have had to check in with the hospitol due to losing it.
The best thing now to do is put it behind you, yes I know, it is not that easy. But sometimes what I do is try to step out of myself and look at myself as if I were a stranger.
Look around, you do have people that care. and if you feel down and out and have no one chat with one of us. if we are in chat talking about other things please just stop us and tell us you need a hand. whenever im on you can talk to me in public or in pvt. Im sure we are both different with our issues but we both understand how this all works.
If no one is in chat, use the forums for expression of thoughts or even blog. that helps me a lot.
I do wish you the best! just keep in mind you have a great support team here. We all battle, and we got your back!
Keep your head up montana! look forward to chatting with you in the chat room.
Stay Well !
