here is a relaxation help for those who find it difficult to clear their head before sleep, who suffer from racing thoughts etc. it helps to lie comfortably and practice slow even breathing at the same time as using this story.try and visualise the island as u read, and as u get more familiar with it, u will be able to recall it at any time, any place, wen u need to relax.

ok....we are going to a beautiful island...we are on the beach
of the island...there is nobody there but u...u are all alone..
...u feel relaxed, happy...you walk along the beach...and
the soft sand feels good beneath ur toes...in the distance,

u can hear the waves gently rolling towards the shore...and also,
the sound of dolphins playing happily in the surf...u take a
long, slow breath in, and the air is cool and refreshing in ur
lungs, u feel it cleansing u...there is a slight cooling breeze,
like a gentle caress washing over u.

..the sun is warming but not
hot on ur bare shoulders, u are relaxed and comfortable...as u
walk along the beach, u see palm trees, a vivid splash of green
against the clear blue cloudless sky...u notice a brightly
coloured parrot in the tree and u marvel at his red, blue and
green feathers, he is beautiful..
.as u continue ur walk, u hear

the singing of a distant waterfall...natures music, and with
every step u take, every breath u take, ur feeling more and more
relaxed.

u start to feel a little tired, so u spot a slightly
shaded area where the sand meets the trees, and u relax onto the
soft, velvety sand, and it is comfortable beneath u..

.and u
concentrate on the sounds of the island, and breathing slowly
of the fresh sea air...ur eyelids grow heavy, so u relax back
onto the cool sand and let the island sing u to sleep..

.and with
every breath u take, u feel all stress leaving ur body..and the
only feeling that remains is contentment...as ur eyelids grow
heavier and heavier, u let them close, sinking completely into
the soft cool sand which supports ur relaxed body perfectly...
and soon, u drift off into a relaxed, comfortable, peaceful sleep,
protected by ur island....... the end.
